What is PRP?

PRP means platelet-rich plasma, obtained from the treated person’s blood by centrifugation. It is autologous but not risk-free and not identical to every other autologous blood treatment.

Which goals are studied?

PRP is studied for texture, fine lines, elasticity, and skin thickness. Newer reviews report positive signals for some parameters; hydration and pigment results are less consistent.

Why do results differ?

Draw volume, tubes, centrifugation, platelet concentration, leukocytes, activation, injection technique, and combinations vary widely. PRP is therefore not a fully standardised preparation.

Suitability and limits

Blood count, coagulation, medication, infections, and other conditions must be considered. PRP replaces neither lost volume nor surgical tightening and does not guarantee a visible change.

Risks and aftercare

Possible are pain, bruising, swelling, redness, and infection. Sterile preparation, traceable documentation, and clear warning signs belong to the concept.
