Oral & jaw surgery
As OMFS specialists we combine human medicine and dentistry in multi-year specialist training — beyond purely dental oral surgery. Besides oral procedures, we also assess and treat more complex situations of the jaw, soft tissue, and adjacent structures. Imaging, clinical findings, and overall planning decide indication and a gentle approach.
Wisdom teeth
Wisdom teeth do not always need removal. With inflammation, lack of space, damage to neighbours, or difficult position — for example close to a nerve — OMFS specialist assessment is decisive: anatomy, risk, and alternatives are clearly framed before surgery.
02 · Implantology & bone
Dental implants also in demanding bone situations
As a specialist in oral and maxillofacial surgery, Hans Krehn links implant planning with experience in bone and soft-tissue surgery — beyond purely dental oral surgery. Demanding anatomical baselines can thus be assessed differentially and, when medically sensible, treated with implantation, augmentation, or a less extensive alternative. Implantation in every conceivable situation still cannot be promised in blanket terms.

In immediate implantation, an implant is placed directly after tooth removal. Under OMFS specialist leadership, MEDIKUSS favours this tissue-sparing approach when infection status, socket, soft tissue, primary stability, and planned prosthetics are suitable. Immediate implantation does not automatically mean immediate loading or immediate definitive restoration; those decisions are made separately.

Short implants can in selected situations use existing bone efficiently and avoid more extensive grafting. Decisive factors include bone quality, implant diameter and position, bite load, opposing dentition, cleanability, and planned prosthetics. The KIS principle: as little surgical effort as possible, as much safety and substance as needed — framed within the overall OMFS concept.

Bone grafting creates volume when the existing jaw does not allow a stable implant restoration. Method and material follow defect size and location and the planned restoration — at MEDIKUSS under OMFS specialist assessment, not as an isolated oral-surgical step alone.
03 · Facial surgery
Eyelid and facial surgery
Functional and aesthetic procedures in the face belong to the OMFS spectrum and require precise knowledge of anatomy, nerves, and soft tissue. The aim is a medically clear correction that respects function and individual facial features.

Sedation & anaesthesia
Depending on the procedure and personal situation, local anaesthesia, sedation, or general anaesthesia may be appropriate. Selection follows medical history, treatment extent, and individual safety needs.
